Lotto Proof is a scratcher counting app for stores that sell scratch-off lottery tickets. The app comes installed on a dedicated handheld scanner, included in the $39.99 monthly price, so at shift change the cashier scans every book (also called a pack) in the rack in 1 to 3 minutes instead of counting by hand. The owner sees tickets sold for every shift, who worked it, and any missing book, from their phone.
One app, two sides
The cashier uses the scanner at the counter. The owner uses their phone, from anywhere. Both see the same shifts, worked out from the same scans.

On the counter
The scanner app
- Comes installed on the handheld scanner, included in the price
- Cashier taps Start Shift and scans each book, bin by bin
- Shows the shift's tickets sold and sales on its own screen

On your phone
The owner app
- Opens in any phone or computer browser, nothing to install
- Every shift, who worked it, and what it sold, for every store
- An email the same day when a book goes missing
How a count works

1Scan the rack
At shift change the cashier taps Start Shift and scans the next ticket of each book, bin by bin. A full rack takes 1 to 3 minutes.

2The math is done
Lotto Proof compares each book with the previous scan and calculates tickets sold and sales for the shift.

3You see it anywhere
The shift summary appears on the scanner and in the owner's dashboard, with any missing book called out.
Phone-camera app or a scanner app?
Most scratcher counting apps use the phone's camera. That works, but scratch-off tickets are hard on cameras: foil and glossy stock throw glare, and every barcode needs careful aiming. Lotto Proof puts its app on a scanner built for the job.
| Question | Phone-camera counting app | Lotto Proof |
|---|---|---|
| Reads barcodes with | The phone's camera | An industrial Honeywell scan engine with a trigger |
| Foil and glare | Needs careful aiming, sometimes retries | Reads scratched and worn barcodes on the first try |
| A 64-book rack | About 3 to 5 minutes | 2 minutes 9 seconds (median at our stores) |
| Whose device | A cashier's phone or a store phone | The store's scanner, which stays at the counter |
| Owner's view | Varies by app | Every shift, every store, from any phone, plus a daily email |
| Missing book | Varies by app | Flagged against the shift, owner emailed the same day |
What the app catches
Because every shift starts with a scan of the whole rack, anything that doesn't add up is tied to the shift it happened on:
1 activated book never seen on your shelf
$5,000,000 SUPERSTAR · $20/ticket · activated, then settled by the lottery
Total liability
$600.00
1 book pulled from display, no return on record
CELEBRATE 2026 · $25/ticket · 11 tickets were still in it
Billed
$275.00
1 returned book didn't add up
100X THE CASH · $20/ticket · 6 tickets unaccounted for
Short
$120.00
What the owner sees

- Scratcher sales every day, with draw games below
- Every shift with its own total, so a short shift stands out
- What the lottery will pull from your bank this week

And a daily email, so you don't have to log in
Every morning: yesterday's sales, each shift and who worked it, and anything that needs your attention today, like a book the lottery activated that never reached the rack.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an app for counting scratchers?
Yes. Lotto Proof is a scratcher counting app for stores that sell scratch-off tickets. Unlike phone-camera apps, it comes installed on its own handheld scanner, included in the $39.99 monthly price, and the owner sees every shift from their phone. Most other counting apps, such as Lottery Track, read barcodes with a phone camera.
Can I count scratch-off tickets with my phone camera?
You can, and phone-camera apps are a low-cost way to start. The catch is speed and reliability: foil and glossy tickets cause glare, each barcode needs careful aiming, and a camera read typically takes 3 to 5 seconds a book. Lotto Proof's scanner reads each book on the first try; its median full-rack scan at our own stores is 2 minutes 9 seconds for 64 bins.
Do I need to install anything on my phone?
No. The owner side of Lotto Proof opens in any phone or computer browser, and a daily email sums up yesterday's shifts. The cashier side comes installed on the scanner.
How does a scratcher counting app work out tickets sold?
Each scratch-off book's barcode identifies the game, the book, and the next ticket to be sold. Comparing that position with the previous shift's scan gives the tickets sold and sales for the shift, book by book, with no math by hand.
Does it need to connect to my POS?
No. Lotto Proof works on its own over Wi-Fi. There is no POS integration to set up.
How much does the Lotto Proof app cost?
$39.99 per month per store location, with the handheld scanner included and a 30-day free trial. It is an introductory price, locked for five years, with no contract.
